Rear Garden

Our garden has, since we live here, been treated organically i.e. we have not used any chemicals at all. There was and is no danger that chemicals would have been carried in from the surrounding paddocks as the farmers have not fertilised any of them. For the few months a year that catlle were grazing the animals maintained the normal cycle of giving back to the soil what they have been eating.

Through the paddock which borders the rear end of our garden is one of Bedfordshire rambler paths. This footpath connects the East village entry on Wavenden Road via the water mill with the West end village entry on Broughton Road. We have a little gate in our fence giving straight access to this rambling path and we frequently used it when our dogs were younger.

Near the end of our garden we have erected a large log cabin (see next page).

In the middle of the garden we have two mature cherry trees and near the house two apple trees. The remainder is grassland used by us and our dogs.
